In 2002, we updated the design of the Greenbelt Alliance
web site with a friendlier look and an improved navigation
system. We met with them to discuss the problems with the
old site, which included usability, grpahic appeal to their
audiences, and their web management process. They had already
thought about some of these issues, which allowed us to get
started quickly.
The new site allows people to find material related to their
geographic location more easily, which was a high priority.
We also simplified their web maintenance process by setting
up Dreamweaver templates for them to use, and we also set
up server scripts which allow them to enter, edit and delete
event information via their own web browsers. The scripts
then update all of the places that events appear throughout
the web site.
